Our ensemble meets weekly on Fridays from 6:00pm - 8:00pm in Rm 12 at the Maritime Conservatory. For more information about our Covid-19 safety protocols please visit our "BCP Covid-19 Updates" page. In addition when we begin preparations for performances in January or June we may request that students attend extra rehearsals and families will receive notice of these extra rehearsals well in advance.
Performances
We fully expect to return to in-person classes and performances for the 2021/2022 academic year. We are planning an 80's themed musical theatre variety concert for the final weekend of January 2022 and we plan as usual to announce a fully staged musical in late October (dependent on enrollment) which will be auditioned within the program in late January and performed during the first full week June of 2022.
**Dates for the January and June performances will be announced in Fall 2022.**
Theatre Blacks
All students of the program should own black jazz shoes and theatre blacks for performances. Theatre blacks can include black dresses, black skirts, black blouses, black dress pants, black dress shirts. These clothes are for performances so please no black jeans, jogging pants, shorts, yoga pants or athletic leggings. Thank you in advance!
Illness Policy
Students should not plan to attend classes in-person if they have any cold or flu like symptoms and should only plan to return to class when the student is no longer displaying symptoms. If a student has been determined recovered by a medical professional with a doctor's note but has lingering respiratory symptoms we require that they please wear a mask until those symptoms are resolved.
Location
We plan to resume in person classes weekly on Friday afternoons and evenings in Rm 12 at the Maritime Conservatory located at 6199 Chebucto Rd, Halifax starting on Friday September 17th, 2021. By renting a rehearsal space at the Maritime Conservatory we are happy to maintain an affiliation with this wonderful historic building.
