Registration Information

Registration for the 2023/2024

All students currently registered in the program are welcome to register here on the website starting Tuesday July 4th, 2023.

New students
 who wish to join the program in Fall 2023 will need to arrange a preliminary audition with us before submitting their online registration form. Audition
s are now being scheduled on a person by person basis.

The 2023/2024 ensemble has reached it's registration cap and we are no longer accepting new registration.

If a student you know may be interested in our programming please consider registration in one of our July 2024 summer camps or contact us next summer to arrange an audition for Fall 2024.

Registration / Tuition and Payment

 

In order to register your student(s) for our program(s) please take a moment to fill out the registration form located at the bottom of this page. The cost for the full 36 weeks will be $975.00 and payments can be made in total for the year or broken down into four 9 week payments of $243.75. We are able to accept cash, post dated cheques or e-transfers. A confirmation of enrollment and a digital receipt via email will be provided upon receipt of your payment(s). If you choose to break down tuition payments into four installments the payments will be due on September 8th, 2023 / November 3rd, 2023 / January 26th, 2024 / April 5th, 2024. If paying by e-transfer please email payment to broadwaycompanyplayers@gmail.com. Cash payments are accepted in person only. 

 

Our ensemble meets weekly on Fridays from 6:00pm - 9:00pm in Rm 12 at the Maritime Conservatory and will offer students weekly instruction in dance, acting and singing. In addition when we begin preparations for performances in January or June we may request that students attend extra rehearsals and families will receive notice of these extra rehearsals well in advance.

Performances

 

In June 2022 we made a full return to in-person performances with a fully staged production of Les Misérables. We are planning a literary musical themed variety concert for Saturday December 16th, 2023 and we plan to announce our fully staged musical in early September (dependent on enrolment) which will be auditioned within the program in early January and performed the week of June 10th - 15th, 2024.

Theatre Blacks

 

All students of the program should own black jazz shoes and theatre blacks for performances. Theatre blacks can include black dresses, black skirts, black blouses, black dress pants, black dress shirts. These clothes are for performances so please no black jeans, jogging pants, shorts, yoga pants or athletic leggings. Thank you in advance!

Illness Policy

​

Students should not plan to attend classes in-person if they have any cold or flu like symptoms and should only plan to return to class after they have received a negative Covid test result. If a student receives a negative test result and wishes to return to class but still has lingering respiratory symptoms we require that they please wear a mask until those symptoms are resolved.

​

Weekly Rehearsal Location

​

We plan to continue with in person classes weekly on Friday evenings from 6:00pm - 9:00pm in Rm 12 at the Maritime Conservatory located at 6199 Chebucto Rd, Halifax starting on Friday September 8th, 2023. By renting a rehearsal space at the Maritime Conservatory we are happy to maintain an affiliation with this wonderful historic building.

Performance Venues for our 2023/2024 Academic Year

​

We are thrilled to provide our students with the opportunity to perform in three new music and theatre venues this upcoming 2023/2024 Academic year. Our annual "Fall Coffee House Fundraiser" will take place on Sunday November 5th at the Lebrun Recreation Centre's "Lion's Den Hall". Our first semester variety show performance will take place on Saturday December 16th at the Halifax Grammar School's New Multi-Purpose Theatre space and our final main stage musical will be performed in the brand new Sanctuary Arts Centre located on Ochterloney St in Dartmouth.

In order to pre-register for our program please fill out this online form. Once you have received an email from us confirming we have received your information please follow the directions included within your email to provide payment before our first class on Friday September 8th, 2023. Registration will not be completed until payment has been made and you have received a receipt via email.
